Use rumble buttons only when all else has failed.
Putting holes in a mobile home roof is never good.
They used to use rumble screws to reduce the noise but since you were putting holes in the roof it soon became a situation where you were trading one problem for a bigger one.
You must nail to a rafter and then seal the area with a special caulk.
I don t recommend adding holes in a roof even if you will be sealing and coating over them.

Excellent product they do a great deal to quiet the rumble of a mobile home sheet metal roof i also added butyl rubber to insure a tight seal even though they have built in seals the extra insurance seems well worth it and it protects the metal against future corrosion they go a long way to keep the roof quiet.

It s not pretty but what most people do is place tires on the roof which stops roof rumble during wind also there is a product called rumble buttons.
The rumble buttons will do the job you can get em at lowe s or home depot as metal roof washers but they ll require a lot of work and of course depends on there being good wood under the roof.
