Unscrew the gutters at the brackets then pull out the nails holding them in place and lower them down safely. Those big beams only go in maybe three feet and nail into a rafter. Most eaves are damaged by improperly draining gutters and warp over time. Do the same for flashing where it overlaps the edges of the overhang.
